Synopsis:

Bishnu is a Bhutanese-Nepali-American living in Akron, Ohio. He dreams of returning to his homeland, Bhutan, one last time before he dies. Having escaped political persecution in Bhutan long ago, he sought refuge in Nepal and eventually settled in America through a refugee program. Throughout his life, he has always questioned the meaning of home, family, and identity. His repeated visa requests to return to Bhutan are rejected. The World’s Happiest Man sheds light on the deep sense of displacement and the unbreakable human spirit, resonating with anyone who has ever searched for home and belonging.
